Our verdict
- Go
- Race week, 5–12 June, with Friday's 100th Senior as the one to plan around
- Stay
- Douglas
- Book by
- June 2026 for the ferry, and the same week for a bed
This is the one event where the boat sells out before the island does. A car on the Steam Packet goes a year ahead; after that it is a flight and no transport, or a sailing from a port you did not want. Book the crossing first and the room second.

| Mid race week6–10 Jun 2027 | Racing on alternate days, with Mad Sunday on the mountain road in between | ×2.6 | Rest days are for riding the course yourself; the weather decides the schedule | |
| Senior TTFri 11 Jun | The 100th Senior TT, moved to the Friday for 2027 | ×3 | The reason to come this particular year; book the Friday night months ahead | |
| Final racesSat 12 Jun | The last races of the week, sidecars and Sportbike | ×2.6 | Leave on Sunday, not Saturday — every boat off the island is full |

Getting there
The Isle of Man Steam Packet sails from Heysham and Liverpool, with extra sailings during TT fortnight. Vehicle space is the bottleneck of the whole event and goes roughly a year out; foot passengers have more room, but then you need transport on the island.
Flying into Ronaldsway from Liverpool, Manchester, London and Dublin takes under an hour and avoids the boat entirely — at the cost of hiring a car that was also booked months ago.
The Mountain Course closes for every session. Plan journeys around the road closures, not around the map: a ten-mile drive can mean a two-hour wait or a long way round.

Questions
- When is the 2027 Isle of Man TT?
- 31 May to 12 June 2027. Qualifying runs the first week; the races are 5–12 June, with the 100th Senior TT on Friday 11 June.
- What sells out first, the ferry or the hotels?
- The ferry, if you want to take a vehicle — roughly a year out. Beds follow a few months later.
- Do I need to stay in Douglas?
- It is the simplest base and the only one with hotel stock, but the course runs for 37 miles. Ramsey or Peel is cheaper and gives you a different part of the race.
- What is Mad Sunday?
- The Sunday in the middle of race week, when the mountain section opens one-way to the public and thousands of people ride it. It has its own crash statistics; ride it accordingly.
- Is camping realistic?
- Yes, and it is what a large part of the crowd does. Sites near the course take bookings a year ahead and fill in the same way the hotels do.
