Getting there

LaGuardia is the closest airport and the cheapest taxi; JFK and Newark both work but add half an hour each way.

Runners reach the start by ferry and bus from Manhattan or by bus from Staten Island, leaving between 05:00 and 07:00. Nothing about your hotel choice can shorten that morning — pick for the finish instead.

On race day the subway is the only way across the course. Bridges and avenues close from early morning and the park is shut to traffic all day.
